Nobody Needs to Know

by To The Helpless

/

about

This is the eighth song of our Oscar-Wilde-inspired album, "A Futile Guide to Modern Living."

It's probably the most autobiographical song on the record.

It is born from that moment when you realize that you're living life more concerned about sharing it in the digital world than living it for what it's worth.

It has an intentional easy-on-the-ears pop vibe to overstate the superfluous and banal trends that threaten the essence of our individuality.

In "The Importance of Being Ernest," Oscar Wilde wrote: "It is very vulgar to talk about one's business. Only people like stockbrokers do that, and then merely at dinner parties."

lyrics

Feeling high or feeling low
Nobody needs to know
Feeling right or feeling wrong
Nobody needs to know
Feeling weak or feeling strong
Nobody needs to know
Feeling cool or feeling lame
Nobody needs to know

Don’t forget to tell the world about it
Don’t forget to make yourself shine in their eyes

Nobody cares about you
Nobody cares about you
Nobody cares about you
Nobody needs to know

Feeling pride or feeling shame
Nobody needs to know
Feeling sad or feeling joy
Nobody needs to know
Feeling stressed or feeling peace
Nobody needs to know
Feeling lost or feeling blessed
Nobody needs to know

Don’t forget to tell the world about it
Don’t forget to make yourself shine in their eyes

Nobody cares about you
Nobody cares about you
Nobody cares about you
Nobody needs to know
