As the World Lies Dying (I Believe in Miracles)

by To The Helpless

/

about

This is the seventh song of our Oscar-Wilde-inspired album, "A Futile Guide to Modern Living". Oscar Wilde Wrote in A Woman of No Importance: “Duty is what one expects from others, it is not what one does oneself” The song talks about how fast we are to criticize others, but how little we actually do for others. The first part of the song is an original song by us, and the final part of the song is a Ramones cover.

lyrics

As the world lies dying
You turn your back don’t hear it shout
Or feel the pain in every word
And drain the anger drain the doubt?

As the world lies crying
Do you give more than you will take?
Do you provide the shelter
For the ones about to break?

Break away from yourself
So you can become a part of the rest?
Break away from yourself
So you can become one with the world?

As the world lies dying
Do you become the helping hand?
Or make your best to run away?
Forget the ones you left behind?

As the world lies crying
Do you become the bigger man?
Or do you try to hide away?
Where no one can see you and your shame?

Will you keep on trying?
As the world lies dying?

Break away from yourself
So you can become a part of the rest?
Break away from yourself

I used to be on an endless run
Believed in miracles 'cause I'm one
I've been blessed with the power to survive
After all these years I'm still alive

Oh, I believe in miracles
Oh, I believe in a better world for me and you
Oh, oh, I believe in miracles
Oh, oh, I believe in a better world for me and you
